Meet The Coos Private Tour

On this private hands-on tour, guests are driven around the farm in the comfort of our 7 seat Land Rover Discovery which can accommodate up to 6 guests (depending on peoples size, 6 can be a squeeze), by one of the Dumble Farm farmers, Will, James or Fi who will provide you with a unique opportunity to find out what life is like for a Hull Valley farmer.

You’ll meet, groom and feed lots of our furry four legged friends! While learning about our conservation work and the history of the Farm.

After your introduction talk and safety briefing the tour will start with us bringing some of our super cute fluffy young Highland cows out on halters, for you to meet, groom, and cuddle. The young Highlands are very friendly and love being fussed over by our guests! You will learn all about your new furry friends, combing their hair, giving them chin scratches (they love chin scratches!), getting to know their different personalities and of course getting plenty of photos.

Next our guests will be taken in the land rover to get up close to our main Highland fold with their young calves (depending on the time of year). Guests are able to feed the cows from the Landrover, the cows love to come and poke their noses through the window so we can give them snacks!

You can find out all about these striking cows with their characterful personalities and see in action the positive environmental role that grazing livestock play in increasing biodiversity.

We will drive through our wet grassland area that attracts many wading birds, to see how we are developing habitats for these declining species, hear about the history of the area and the way the farm has changed over time.

Then into the cuddle cow field, where you’ll be able to see these gentle giants, before been driven through our wildflower fields to the ‘water and woodland’ area, here we are creating a mosaic of habitats, which attracts a variety of insects, birds, amphibians and flora, dependent on the time of year.

Then we head back to the farm to meet and cuddle our friendly fussy goats!

We finish off with tea/coffee and Farmer Fi’s  home baked cakes, made with many ingredients grown here on the farm. There is plenty of time while you have a brew, to have a friendly chat with the Dumble Farm farmers, who will be happy to answer any of your questions about the cows, conservation or their farming lives here in East Yorkshire.
