This joint visit starts and finishes at Laurel Vines Vineyard (please don’t come to dumble farm! there is no direct road connecting the two), and consists of a hands-on Highland Cow Safari, vineyard tour, picnic and bottle of wine.

This tour starts with a short walk down through the vines to the Dumble bus (please wear appropriate footwear), for a hands-on highland cow safari.

You’ll get to meet our main Fold of majestic Highland Cows and their adorable fluffy calves. You’ll be able to feed the cows from the trailer, and from this raised viewpoint get a great overview of the whole Fold. There will be plenty of time to photograph these magnificent cows with their dramatic horns, long flowing coats and cute dossens (fringes) tumbling over their faces.

We will stop mid-way for coffee and homemade cake, before meeting our cute, fluffy year old Highland cows. These young Highlands are very friendly and love being fussed over by our guests, you can brush their dossen(fringe), scratch their chins, (they love chin scratches!) and get plenty more photos.

You then return to Laurel Vines for a vineyard and winery tour.

With over 15,000 vines in the ground and an award winning winery with capacity of over 30,000 litres. The tour takes you through how they grow the grapes and developed from just 2,000 vines to where we are now with over 15,000 vines. The team will also take you into the winery and explain how they create Their award winning wine.

The picnics are created by their Catering manager, Alastair. Including homemade scones with jam, cream and butter. A bottle of wine is also included in your picnic for you to enjoy at the outside seating area. Alternatively, there are picnic blankets available for you to take your picnic into the vineyard to enjoy the tranquility of our little slice of Yorkshire.
